Created around the design concept ‘Depth in Shadow’, the G-SHOCK 2500 Series collection explores what it means to read and engage with time in analogue form. Carefully textured hands, raised bar indexes and dimensional dials catch the light to create changing patterns of shadow, while a clean two-eye layout makes the passage of time intuitive at a glance.

G-SHOCK DNA, REFINED FOR TODAY

The new 2500 Series represents the latest stage in a G-SHOCK design story that began in 1983. That year, Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe introduced the DW-5000C, the first G-SHOCK, after setting out to create a watch that would not break when dropped. Its protective case, button guards and distinctive octagonal form were shaped by function rather than fashion. Those features went on to define the 5000 and 5600 families and established the visual blueprint for G-SHOCK.

In 2019, the GA-2100 took that original design in a new direction. It retained the octagonal shape of the DW-5000C but introduced a slimmer digital-analogue profile, supported by a lightweight Carbon Core Guard structure. Its stripped-back appearance made the 2100 one of G-SHOCK's most recognisable modern designs.

The 2500 Series distils that heritage into a minimalist contemporary design. Ornamentation has been pared back so that every element serves either legibility, comfort or toughness. The result is a compact, versatile collection designed to sit naturally across a wide range of settings and styles.

DESIGNED TO MAKE TIME INTUITIVE

Analogue timekeeping makes it possible to sense, from the position of the hands, how much time has passed and how much remains. The 2500 Series develops this advantage through broad, finely textured hands, sharply defined bar indexes and a dial with pronounced depth.

Light moves across the dial and hands as the wrist turns, producing subtle changes in shadow while preserving clarity. The carefully balanced two-eye layout places a small seconds display at 9 o’clock and the Multi-Mission Date window at 3 o’clock.

MULTI-MISSION DATE: DIGITAL UTILITY, EXPRESSED IN ANALOGUE FORM

The newly developed Multi-Mission Date is a fan-shaped, three-cell window that performs several roles within the fully analogue display. Depending on the function selected, it can show the date, elapsed stopwatch minutes, setting information and calendar details.

Once the day, month and year are set, the fully automatic calendar adjusts the date at the end of each month and during leap years. This delivers practical digital-style functionality without interrupting the clean analogue character of the dial.

TRUE TOUGHNESS, PERFORMING EVERY SECOND

The tail of the small seconds hand carries the G-SHOCK Shock Resist mark. Moving continuously around the sub-dial, it serves as a visible reminder of the shock-resistant construction working beneath the refined exterior.

A magnetic shock-release structure holds the minute hand in position using magnetic force rather than fixing it rigidly to the shaft. This allows the hand to absorb and dissipate the force of an impact before returning to the correct position.

Every watch in the collection delivers signature G-SHOCK shock resistance and 20-bar water resistance. A second-hand sleep function also allows the wearer to stop the small seconds hand when it is not required, helping to reduce power consumption.

MATERIALS AND FORM CREATE DEPTH

The GAC-2500 features a lightweight resin case, band and moulded resin dial. The dial’s sculpted form and raised indexes create an airy, three-dimensional expression across black, white, yellow and dark green colourways.

The GMC-2500 introduces a metal-clad bezel and brass dial, paired with a textured resin band. Depending on the colourway, the dial is treated with either a sunray or honed finish to draw out the natural character of the metal.

The GMC-2500D pairs the metal-clad construction with a metal bracelet for a more substantial finish. Across all three executions, the band has been designed to complement the case and provide a comfortable fit.

NINE NEW WATCHES, THREE DISTINCT STYLES

The 2500 Series will launch with nine watches across three different executions.

The collection also introduces a magnetic shock-release minute hand. Rather than fixing the hand rigidly to the shaft, G-SHOCK uses magnetic force to hold it in position, allowing it to absorb and dissipate impacts. A second-hand sleep function allows the wearer to stop the small seconds hand when it is not required, reducing power consumption and extending battery life.

The G-SHOCK 2500 Series will be available in the UK from 7th November 2026
