Seiko unveils the King Seiko VANAC “Tokyo Highway”, a new timepiece inspired by the iconic 1970s VANAC collection. Taking its name from the birthplace of King Seiko, the design draws inspiration from the expressway network radiating from central Tokyo. The collection is available in three colourways: Titanium Twilight Violet, Titanium Silvertone and Titanium Night Black.

In the 1960s, King Seiko timepieces led Seiko Watch Corporation’s developments in world-leading technical precision. The name originated when multiple Seiko watchmakers created different watches to encourage innovation, reflecting one of the brand’s constant aims.
Named “Tokyo Highway”, the design draws inspiration from the megacity’s vast network of expressways, reflected in a lightly horizontally-patterned dial. Crafted from titanium, the watch is robust, corrosion-resistant and lighter than stainless steel and features an easily removable bracelet with a new one-push triple fold clasp.

Powered by the new in-house 8L45 mechanical calibre, the watch offers accuracy of +10 to –5 seconds per day and a three-day power reserve.

The King Seiko VANAC "Tokyo Highway" will be available to pre-order from the 18th of March from £3,400 at Seikoboutique.co.uk with deliveries starting in July.
